Biography
Born in Koblenz, soprano Bernadette Schäfer studied at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold under Prof. Sabine Ritterbusch and currently works as a freelance singer based in Frankfurt am Main.
Alongside international engagements as a concert soprano — including song recitals at the residence of the German Embassy in Tbilisi, Georgia, and a solo appearance in Beethoven's 9th Symphony in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia — she has recently appeared in the "Opera for Children" series at the Oper Frankfurt.
Already during her studies she broadened her repertoire through opera productions at the Theater Koblenz and the Landestheater Detmold, as well as numerous academy productions — including Pamina in "The Magic Flute", Flora in "La Traviata", Frasquita in "Carmen" and Gretel in "Hansel and Gretel".
She regularly supplements her studies with private lessons from Prof. Hedwig Fassbender and Björn Huestege, and masterclasses with KS Prof. Olaf Bär, Sibylla Rubens and Ingeborg Danz.
